Mental Illness is something I've battled for most of my life. What is pictured below is my own journey, as I feel it. These pictures are somewhat disturbing, please be forewarned.
There is something indefinably exquisite in capturing with an image, that which you can't describe with words. Perhaps there is nothing more particularly suited to canvas or page than pain itself, or the confusion of mind which can't be accurately spoken aloud. Too often, that which can't be explained is dismissed as a fabrication; to see the chaos on a page, where ideas are divested of the narrative constraints of the written word, touches an ecstasy bordering on the sublime - the euphoria of freedom.
If you are feeling actively suicidal, please read this link. It won't take long, and it's saved me before.
